The DAF 95XF is designed as the ideal drivers’ truck with the lowest operating costs. Developed without compromise for the demanding business of long distance road transport, the DAF 95 XF is surprisingly innovative on the outside and remarkably quiet on the inside. The flagship of the DAF range was named 1998 International Truck of the Year by a jury of truck journalists from 14 European countries.

Built for Power and Comfort

The spacious cab has an eye-catching exterior design with a distinctive frontal appearance and a sturdy steel bumper. A choice of three cabs suits all long-distance trucking requirements. The Comfort Cab is perfect for day or overnight trips, the Space Cab (with a raised roof) is ideal for most interstate work, and the Super Space Cab (with an extra high roof) caters for the longest journeys away from home.

In designing the interior, particular attention has been paid to satisfying the driver’s needs for a practical living and working space, a comfortable resting and sleeping area and for the storage of personal items. The modern sweeping curves of the fascia feature a ‘soft touch’, easy to clean anti-static finish. The dash layout has a centrally positioned, easy to read LED screen onto which essential information is projected. A luxurious air-suspended driver’s seat and pneumatically adjustable steering column ensure the perfect driving position for all drivers. In-cab noise levels are lower than most luxury cars.

Powered by a 12.6 litre, 24-valve, turbo-charged and intercooled, six-cylinder diesel engine the 95XF offers a choice of engine outputs at 380 hp, 430 hp and 480 hp, generating maximum torque of 1750 Nm (at 1100 - 1500 rpm), 1900 Nm (at 1050 - 1500 rpm) and 2050 Nm (at 1000 - 1500 rpm) respectively.

"Since maximum torque is produced over a wide rev range driving requires fewer gear changes and fuel consumption is less dependent on individual driving styles. DAF engines also incorporate refined combustion technology which enables them to meet the strictest emission requirements without having to use high-maintenance electronic fuel injection systems," said Mike Smith, Sales and Marketing Manager for DAF Trucks Australia.

The 95XF is available as a 6x4 rigid or prime mover with GCM to 65 tonnes and includes dual-circuit, air-operated drum brakes on the front and rear axles. ABS is standard with traction control available as an option. In addition the DAF Engine Brake (DEB) provides extra braking capacity up to 290 kilowatts at 2400 rpm.

The 95XF features an extremely responsive 16-speed synchromesh gearbox with low shifting forces and short gearshift travel to reduce fatigue and enhance driving enjoyment.

Long parabolic leaf or air suspension is available on the front axle with the PACCAR Airglide 200 eight-bag air suspension at the rear. Add to this the four point cab suspension and the result is outstanding ride comfort.

All DAF trucks come with a 2 year / 500,000 kilometre warranty covering the complete chassis and driveline and are distributed through the DAF dealer network in Australia.
